Hey, y'all.
My name is Jessi, and I am the founder/owner of Harper's Beautique.
The name of our store is a play on my children's names, Harper & Beau. They are really the inspiration for everything that I do so I definitely wanted to pay homage to them with this new adventure that I was going to be taking our whole family on. (Even if they didn't know it.)
It all started back in August of 2023 when I was laid off of my then position at a mortgage company. I have always had a creative streak and am an accessory addict, so I left my office after packing everything up and on my drive home...as I was slightly panicking...I could only think of one thing...making jewelry. So, I went straight home to get started on creating this Beautique for all that I wanted to begin making.
I love working with gemstones and crystals! It makes me feel like as I am creating a new piece, I am also cleansing myself. Plus, they are pretty, and it is HIGHLY therapeutic!! If I am stressed or feeling scattered or need to just take a break from all of the craziness that is life with kids, animals and a husband then I just bead. The process of picking the colors, then designing the pattern, then stringing the beads and then double knotting them...it's like it is all a process that puts clean, calming, light air back into my soul. (If that makes sense. Lol.)
Soon enough I had a ton of inventory and nowhere to sell it, so I started with markets...which I love because I, to my core, am a people person! I love interacting with others and getting a feel for what they are looking for and also just hearing their stories. Listen...if there is just one person that I can make smile or inspire to go after their dreams then that is plenty!
I am still very new to the market scene and so far, I am loving it. Yes...I have had a couple of not ideal experiences here and there, but for the most part it is super fun.
I also figured in order to bring home the bacon so that we don't have to sell a kidney for our mortgage...or gas, I would create an online storefront. So here I am. And I honestly am still learning as I go. But it is fun and exciting, and I am just ready to get this baby off the ground and running...just like my littles. (Not so little anymore)
